We had a wonderful time at our Nursery Literacy parent workshop and 'Stay and Play' session this week! Mrs Bavin, our Early Years lead, delivered an extremely useful parent workshop on just what 'Literacy' means in Nursery and how we teach it at Annie Lennard. Many examples of children's literacy work were shared and ideas and tips were provided for how parents and carers can support with literacy skills at home. Parents were then treated to a lovely 'Stay and Play' session where they got to play alongside their children, exploring a range of literacy-based activities, from orally re-telling the traditional tale -The Three Little Pigs and the popular story - The Hungry Caterpillar, to mark marking, matching up objects for rhyming words, 'Dough Disco' and 'Squiggle while you wiggle!' The parents were very good at this one! Much fun was had by all!
A HUGE thank you to all parents and carers for your participation in our workshops and 'Stay and Play' sessions this term! We've LOVED welcoming you back!
