On Thursday 2nd March, we had lots of fun in school celebrating World Book Day, a day that is devoted to a love of books and reading. Children and staff were able to come to school dressed as their favourite book character. A whole school assembly was held to teach children about why we celebrate World Book Day and the importance of reading. Each child received their £1 book token which can be redeemed against a range of World Book Day books or put towards the cost of a full priced book. Each class was also treated to a 'role model reader' session whereby a member of our wider school community read to the children; we had Mr Phillips our school caretaker, Mrs Sirett our Business Manager, Mrs Goldby-Timmis our Office Manager, Mr Moss and Mrs Rogman, two of our school Governors, Mr Bhogal, one of our parent Governors, Mrs Hadden, our family support worker and Mrs Crozier, Headteacher. Our school librarians also had a workshop with Baggie Bird and the Albion Foundation where they designed a book character. What fun we all had
