Message from Mrs Williams to Year 6
I just wanted to take this opportunity to wish all of year 6 the best of luck for their time in high school and for the future. They have been a pleasure to teach and have worked extremely hard. I hope they enjoy their final few weeks in year 6.
Parking
I have had a large number of complaints from residents regarding parking outside the school over the last few weeks. I’m saddened to hear that some of them have been verbally abused by our parents, when they have been asked not to block driveways. We all know The Oval is not the widest of roads and there are many driveways. Can I please ask that we do not block driveways, the residents need to be able to get off their drives to go to work and drop off their own children to school. Please be considerate when parking by school.
Year 6 Leavers Party
This will take place on Monday 18th July 2022 6pm to 8.30pm at Thimblemill Recreation. Please see the attached flyer for more details.
Annie Lennard Nursery
I wanted to keep you updated on our school nursery. We find ourselves in a situation where numbers in our nursery are very low and we are faced with a situation where it is not financially viable to continue. We have a 26-place morning nursery and need 20 pupils to make it financially viable. In September we have 10 pupils. The following year we have 4 pupils on the list. If this number does not increase, we will not be able to run nursery from September 23.
I’m writing to make you aware of this and also to ask if you have younger children and want them to come to our nursery to please put their names down on our waiting lists. Whether this is for next year or the years after. If you have any family members or friends with young children, please make them aware of our nursery.
Although we do not offer the 30 hours you are able to split the hours between providers.
We will do all we can to secure the future of our nursery. You will see advertising posters around the local area promoting the school, we also have leaflets to give out. If you know of any local businesses or organisations that would be willing to display one of our posters please collect them from the office.
Foodbank
Just a little reminder that Food Bank vouchers are available from school to use at Holy Trinity Church. The Food Bank is open on Tuesday and Friday from 12.00-14.00. Please contact Mrs Hadden for more details.
READING VOLUNTEERS WANTED
Do you have any spare time? Would you like to become more involved with our school community? We are looking for volunteers who can help hear our children read. If this is something you are interested in please collect a volunteer application form from the office. All volunteers will need to complete an application form, have a DBS check before they can start. Once you have been cleared as a volunteer full training will be given to you on how to listen to children read and how you can help them make progress.
