Happy Birthday Mr Phillips
Mr Phillips is 60 today so if you see him about on Monday please wish him Happy Birthday.
Year 1 trip to Londonderry Baptist Church
On Tuesday 4th October 2022, Year 1 had a lovely morning visiting LBC to learn all about Harvest and how Christians celebrate it. Abigail from LBC put on a whole host of activities for the children - all Autumn and Harvest themed and the children learnt all about what Harvest is and how Christians say thank you to God at this time. LBC commented on how well behaved the children were and an enjoyable time was had by all.
Acceptable Use Policy
At Annie Lennard School we are committed to developing our ICT and securing the safety of our children. As a result, we have updated our current Acceptable Usage Policy to match the current technological landscape within school. This policy outlines expected behaviour for children whilst using the ICT equipment and also whilst on the Internet. It also explains the sanctions that will result if the policy guidelines are not followed which aligns with our behaviour policy.
It is very important that the children are aware of the safety issues relating to the use of the internet. Whilst children are taught online safety in school we would also appreciate it if you would also continue this at home, along with the how to use technology and equipment appropriately.
As online safety and correct use of the equipment is so important we are asking your child to sign one of the attached forms depending on their key stage. Failure to do this could result in your child not being able to have full access to our ICT and internet facilities which are a vital resource in their learning.
All children in KS1 and KS2 will be expected to sign their own copy of the acceptable use rules which will take place next week during their computing lessons in class. They will be talked through each rule by their class teacher before signing to make sure that they fully understand what is expected of them. I have attached a copy of each version for you to read.
Please note that by not responding to this letter you are giving permission for your child to sign the relevant form and give permission for my son/daughter to have access to the internet and to ICT systems at school which the school will take every reasonable precaution, including monitoring and filtering systems, to ensure that young people will be safe when they use the internet and systems
If you do not wish for your child to sign the rules, please inform their class teacher, Mrs Crozier or Mr Smith as soon as possible.

Leave of Absence
You will need to complete a leave of absence form when you know your child will not be attending school due to an appointment, event or holiday. These forms can be collected from the school office. It is vital that these forms are filled in correctly, if there are gaps we will return them for additional information to be added to them. Please ensure that both parents names are put on the form even if you do not reside together. The form states you must enter the names/ dates of birth and address of every additional adult who holds Parental Responsibility and/ or care of your child (for example new partner/ spouse who lives at the same address as your child or name of parent who lives at a different address)
Holidays will not be authorised, if you feel any request falls under exceptional circumstances then please add all relevant information to the form so an informed decision can be made. When filling out the form please remember include where you are going. Please be aware that absences that are classed as unauthorised may be subject to a penalty notice being issued – please see below.
