Welcome back to the new Academic year. I hope you all had a good summer. Staff were overwhelmed by your generosity, you are very kind with all the thank you gifts and cards that you have sent in. Once again, a massive thank you. Children have settled back into school life really well and are raring to go. All staff members have been impressed with their positive attitudes.

On behalf of the school I would like to offer our condolences to the Royal Family at this incredibly sad time, as a school we have resources in place and time has been given, where needed, in class today so children have had time to make sense of the passing of the Queen.

Congratulations

Mrs Williams welcomed her baby girl into the world 25th July 2022. Congratulations to the Williams family.

Welcome to Ms L Skipp who has joined the Annie Lennard team, she is currently based in year 2.

Attendance

Well done Year 1 you have won Attendance Harry this week. Nobody has been away this week you have 100% attendance - AMAZING

September 2022 – please remember we now finish at 3.15

The government has recently released their white paper. In this it states that by September 2023 all schools must offer 32.5hours a week. We have looked at our timings and we are 5 minutes short of this per day. From September 2022 the school day will be 8.45 to 3.15 to bring us into line with this.

Leave of Absence

You will need to complete a leave of absence form when you know your child will not be attending school due to an appointment, event or holiday. These forms can be collected from the school office. It is vital that these forms are filled in correctly, if there are gaps we will return them for additional information to be added to them. Please ensure that both parents names are put on the form even if you do not reside together. The form states you must enter the names/ dates of birth and address of every additional adult who holds Parental Responsibility and/ or care of your child (for example new partner/ spouse who lives at the same address as your child or name of parent who lives at a different address

Holidays will not be authorised, if you feel any request falls under exceptional circumstances then please add all relevant information to the form so an informed decision can be made. When filling out the form please remember include where you are going.

We would remind all parents that exceptional circumstances do not include family holidays, visiting relatives or friends, attending events abroad such as weddings, looking after family members, birthdays, shopping etc.

Please be aware that absences that are classed as unauthorised may be subject to a penalty notice being issued – please see below.

Nursery Places Available

Do you have a child or know a child who was born between 01/09/2018 and 31/08/2019? Annie Lennard Primary school nursery have places available for September 2022. Please contact the school office to reserve your place on 0121 429 4284.

Forms

Over the coming weeks a number of forms will sent home for you to complete and return to school. Please ensure you return the forms as quickly as possible please.

Phone Numbers

Please can you make sure you notify the office if you change your phone number, we have had a number of instances recently where we have needed to get hold of parents and phone numbers are not working. All pupils must have at least 2 contact numbers on their records.

Foodbank

Just a little reminder that Food Bank vouchers are available from school to use at Holy Trinity Church. The Food Bank is open on Tuesday and Friday from 12.00-14.00. Please contact Mrs Hadden for more details.
