World Book Day - Library opening

We have had a truly fabulous day celebrating World Book Day and the grand opening of our school library! We were honoured to have a very special guest visitor - Mrs Rogman - who officially cut the ribbon to open our library, assisted by our newly appointed school librarians! Children also participated in lots of wonderful activities throughout the day including: dressing up as their favourite book characters; the masked reader competition where staff recorded themselves in disguise reading an extract of much loved book for the children to guess who was behind the mask; a visit from Baggie Bird from the Albion Foundation who some children read to and who gave out books kindly donated by Dan Freedman to Year 4, 5 and 6; mystery reader slots in the library where our chair of Governors - Mrs Pemberton-Smith, Mrs Crozier, Mrs Rogman and Mrs Jones each read to the classes in our library and book tasting sessions in Year 5 and 6 where children got to sample a wide breadth of books from our library in a tea party style activity! We LOVED our day!
