  • Year 5 Ancient Greek History Workshop

    Year 5 had a truly fantastic morning taking part in an Ancient Greek History workshop with Professor Black.  Through games, props, costumes and artefacts, Professor Black taught children about a range of aspects of Ancient Greek life including: the rights of women vs men; the city states and their defining characteristics; the importance of warfare; food; clothing; mythology and what we have the Ancient Greeks to thank for; from the alphabet to birthday cakes! We had such a brilliant morning.

  • Year 3 Ancient Egyptians History Workshop

    22nd Apr 2026

    Year 3 took part in a History workshop today and learned lots about the Ancient Egyptians.  We had a great time mummifying two of our classmates, learned about the Ancient Gods and Goddesses and had a fun quiz to check our learning.

  • Trip to Black County Living Musuem years 1& 2

    16th Apr 2026

      Year 1 and Year 2 had a lovely day on Thursday at the Black Country Living Museum engaging with the museum's Little Makers programme. We explored a range of items from the past made from various textiles, for example: cotton, canvas, wool and hessian and learnt about different making techniques such as sewing, knitting, crocheting and applique.  We can't wait for the follow up visit from the museum to school where will be making our own textile banner using applique.

  • KS1 Easter Assembly

    26th Mar 2026

    We had a lovely time welcoming our families in this morning for Key Stage 1's Easter Assembly!  The children read and sang beautifully and it was a great opportunity for them to share their learning in RE this half term as well a celebrate the season and everything it brings - hope, joy and growth - and Oh my, how much our children are growing in confidence, skills and knowledge!  We are very proud of you!

  • Early Years Easter

    25th Mar 2026

    We had a wonderful time with our families celebrating Easter in Early Years.  We all wore an Easter hat, sang some songs and showed some work about what we have been learning about.  We talked about the Easter story and finished the morning with hot cross buns. Thank you to everyone that came.

  • British Science Week

    22nd Mar 2026

    Over the course of this half term, we have been proudly celebrating British science week.  Across the school, our children have been thinking like real scientists: asking questions, exploring ideas and drawing conclusions which are furthering their scientific understanding.   Year 1 have been exploring the topic of Curious Chemistry.  Throughout the lessons we have completed different experiments exploring how the different ingredients reacted with each other and what happened as a result of this.  Our two favourite experiments were creating a skittle rainbow and making slime.  The children had great fun exploring what happened when they added warm water…

  • Eid

    20th Mar 2026

    This week in Reception we have been learning about Eid, as many of our school community - pupils, staff and families- will be celebrating this week.Some of our parents came to speak to us about how they celebrate Eid.We learnt about going to the Mosque to pray, cooking yummy food, wearing new clothes and jewellery and having gifts of money. One of our parents bought us all a party bag for Eid!We hope that all of our families have a wonderful time if you are celebrating Eid this week.

  • Red Nose Day

    20th Mar 2026

    Across school, we have been celebrating Comic Relief 2026 today with children and staff 'wearing something funny for money!'  From fancy dress, to crazy hair colours, pyjamas and inside out clothes, children and staff dressed up to raise money for the charity.   We are asking for donations be paid via this link app.parentpay.com/ParentPayShop/Foc/Default.aspx?shopid=20855

  • Year 4 visit to St Hilda's Church

    18th Mar 2026

    Year 4 enjoyed a visit to St Hilda’s Church this week as part of their learning about Holy Week. Reverend Jenny brought the story to life by retelling the events, with some children taking on different roles to help act it out. She also explained the traditions of Holy Week and how it is celebrated in the church, which will support the children’s learning back in school.
